Walter Cronkite died today at 7:42 p.m., EST at the age of 92. His son Chip said Friday night, after CBS interrupted programming to show an obit of the legendary anchorman: “My father Walter Cronkite died.” Cronkite hosted CBS Evening News from 1962 to 1981, which is a time period of historic events.
